A little about me

Hey there! I’m Robyn, the proud owner of Little Crooked House.

Crafting has always been my passion, and it truly became a central part of my life when I returned to my hometown in 2002 after spending 18 incredible years in the USA. Being a sole parent, I found joy in crafting and attending markets. It not only allowed me to express my creativity but also provided a much-needed social outlet as I embarked on my “new life.” It was during this time that I stumbled upon the idea of making vellum money envelopes. I couldn’t find anything like them in the market, so I decided to create my own. And guess what? I’ve been making them ever since!

I started showcasing my handcrafted treasures at markets all around greater Hobart, along with some other unique items. Alongside my creations, I also sold my Dad’s incredible Celery Top Pine bird feeders and delightful roll-along children’s toys and my Mum’s fabulous purses!

I have always been drawn to unique things, especially hand crafted items, which leads me to…..

A smidge about Little Crooked House

So, let me tell you a bit about my little bush business nestled in the beautiful shadows of Mount Dromedary, Tasmania. People often wonder how I came up with the name for my business, and it’s quite a fun story! Back in early 2016, I moved into this adorable old crooked house (with a man, a cat, and even a little mouse (don’t worry, none of them are crooked!). And that’s when the idea for ‘Little Crooked House’ was born!

I noticed that most gift shops in town were offering the same products, and it was a bit disheartening. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I don’t rely on gift fairs to stock my shop. Sure, you might find a few things here and there that you could find elsewhere, but the majority of my products are handpicked from some truly exceptional artisans. I absolutely love what I do, and I’m always on the lookout for unique and special items that will bring joy to my customers.
